2023, The Year Everything Changed
Welcome to this first post of AI UI Today. In 2023, a set of technologies converged that enabled new possibilities for artificial intelligence products.
I had been working on different products which had AI capabilities, but what happened in 2023 was new and so much better. AI based products seemed to launch and gather a customer base faster than ever before.
And one thing became clear. Adopt AI in product design and development or be left behind.
1. Why this, why now ?
We are at a new inflection point. This will be a revolution in product design like we have seen when the web first became popular or when smartphones were first released. AI based products could potentially have an even bigger impact.
During the 1990s there was a massive revolution underway as businesses and people flocked to the internet and a browser based user interface. Jakob Nielsen had a big influence on user experience and the web. In the summer of 2023, he sounded a new alarm about the rise of AI in the user experience.
2. This is a place where we’ll explore AI and UI
